April 26th and 27th
Each year, the heritage of our walled towns is celebrated during the walled town days, offering a chance to discover or rediscover our local heritage.

• Festival des Epeutnaërts (scarecrows)

April 1st - 30th
This yearly venue inspires the imagination of the whole population who bedeck their village with scarecrows, both scary and funny… Don't miss the after-dark tour of the village! One month of events, folk dancing, exhibitions, etc.


• A Night in the Museum in Saint Omer

May 17th
Don't miss these nocturnal tours of the Hôtel Sandelin Museum or the Saint Omer Cathedral… Free tours, storytelling, etc.

On these days you can meet all those who create, tend and make gardens beautiful: owners, gardeners, landscapers, botanists, historians.. a cultural event for all, to visit with friends or family, for amateurs and specialists alike.

•  Golf Open in Saint Omer

June 9th till 15th
The Aa Saint-Omer Golf Club is home to a competition selected by the European Tour, an international tournament that attracts some of the best professional golfers in the world. This is France's 2nd male golf tournament after the Trophée de France.


• River Procession on the Aa in Saint-Omer

July 27th
The traditional market gardeners' boats or bacôves are decorated and process down the Haut-Pont canal. This river procession attracts thousands of spectators each year along the docks of the Haut-Pont in Saint Omer. It is THE festival of the marshes!


• Music in the garden

August 28th, 29th and 30th
Music lovers invite you to enjoy some of their favourite works in their own gardens, and share their enthusiasm.

• Heritage Days in the Saint Omer region

Septembre 20th and 21st
Saint-Omer and the surrounding towns and villages will open their historic buildings to the public for the weekend. Discover their rich heritage, take advantage of the knowledge of the tour guides and learn some amazing facts about the region.

• Chitterling sausage festival in Aire sur la Lys

September 7th
This local speciality is celebrated each year, tossed from the top of the Bailiwick into the crowds, with many events going on in the town.


• Taste Week in Caps et Marais d'Opale

October 13th till 19th
Restaurants and food producers will make your mouths water with some of the region's specialities.

Event 2009 !!!

From 2nd to 9th August : the Saint Omer Region is one of the stopping points for the 71st international federal cycletouring week in the Nord Pas de Calais.
